What to Expect from a Networking Meeting

Depending on format, meetings usually have speakers on several topics related to business, the national and/or world economy, creativity and innovation, and career management among many others. All create opportunities to expand your network in an effective fashion.
Senior executives feel welcomed and comfortable at our meetings because meetings are attended by people looking to gain insight and experience from peers with varied backgrounds. Some attendees are actively searching for business opportunities; others are simply looking to expand their network as they manage their careers.

You should come prepared to present in a 5-minute overview of your background and goals.

This may include: 1) identifying specific companies of interest to you in which you would like contacts to expand your networking, or 2) identifying issues on which you would like to gain the advice and perspectives of your peer group. Many members come prepared with business cards and even resumes or profiles to hand out to interested attendees.
