Business Writing

We write hundreds (make it thousands) of letters as part of our work but few of us know the keys to an effective business letter. Too many business letters are impersonal, longwinded and difficult or tedious to read.

Most business writers hide behind tired phrases and an over-formal approach. When you write a letter you create an image of you and your company in your reader’s mind. A good letter should be effortless reading that makes you want to read more. It should be clear and concise, with short sentences and simple words. It should keep to the facts and be easy to read and to understand.

It all narrows down to knowing why you are writing a letter, understanding your reader’s needs and then clearly writing what you need to say.

This workshop aims to introduce you to the skills and techniques that you need to write effective business communications. By the end of the course you should have a level of competence which will enable you to take on the writing task with confidence.
